I really enjoyed the different styles of music Julie sings on this CD, “Let My Light Shine”.
Just after enjoying a country style song, “Nothing Like the Love”, talking about the love of children, and an even softer country style song in “Jesus Wept”, Julie breaks out the guitars in “Waiting on You”.
I loved the words in Julie’s songs. In “I’m a Mess”, she sings how she can’t even get her eight year old to bed, “I’m a mess!” My favorite song was “Love Life Like I Should”. It is a fun, light-hearted song about living life with less worries, with lots of fun scat singing. “Oh, oh, oh, gonna love life like I should, Zabbie at, zabbie at do day”! (Or something like that!)
While my family didn’t care all that much for Julie’s singing coming out of my laptop speakers, I can just imagine her live in concert she would probably really get the crowd hopping with her songs about children, life, love, and Christ!
