Ok- So this is uncharted waters! three weeks ago no one even knew the term the term “Social Distancing” and today it is our way of life! Schools and gigs are cancelled or closed, even church isn’t meeting in person! When you see someone by accident you go out of your way not to touch them, heaven forbid you shake their hand! I love to hugs! This stinks! BUT

I have more TIME TO WRITE MY BOOK!

Working on my book!
-And hang out with my loving hubby and kids! We even watched Frozen II this weekend! So glad we finally got a new living room couch! Just in time!
Ralph and Julie in Red!
Wasn’t I in tears a couple weeks ago that I had no time! I was too busy to breath! I had no more space in my head for another thing! Forget more time in my schedule for another appointment! One minute I was pulling my hair out then-

GONE.

It’s like an Alfred Hitchcock movie or maybe a Twilight Zone episode!

Except in the Market Basket. In the super Market it’s more like the Wednesday before Thanksgiving but on steroids. Add a few million demons of anxiety! Yikes! I had to get out of there. I am not normally one given to anxiety, but it was getting to me. And I can still go there. This is unnerving. Too much change too quickly!

But when all is said and done and I stop belly aching about the money I am losing from not singing my nursing home shows and some of my private students are resisting taking their voice lessons on line, I have to be grateful! God is giving me what I need right now, some time to be still and know he is God. And some TIME TO WRITE MY BOOK!

Working on My Book
Vocal Training For Praise Singers Workshop Cover
I am writing a book which I think will be called “Vocal Training for Praise Singers.” I have been teaching vocal workshops for a few years by that title. I am super excited about the subject area because I don’t know of another book with this focus. It will contain helpful information on vocal anatomy and voice exercises, mic technique and remedies for vocal health and healing etc, but also a spiritual perspective on using your gift to lead others to God. I have been a singer, recording artist, worship leader, band leader, choral director, children’s worship leader, voice teacher and school music teacher for decades. And as I have stumbled under my sins of pride, jealousy, insecurity, selfish ambition, fear and more along the way I have learned many lessons that I pray are helpful to others on the way into this life of singing for God.

I am chronicling my progress on Facebook on my voice teacher page: Facebook/JulieKinscheckVoiceandGuitarTeacher

The goal is to have the book in hand by my church’s big international conference, Vision 2020, this July 4th week. I have a lot still to write!

But I know you have more important things to pray about right now: the health and safety of your loved ones, keeping a steady income, being at peace! But along the way I pray you can take a look at the positive side gifts of this period of time and praise the Lord for thinking of you even in the midst of chaos!

Psalm 100

A psalm. For giving grateful praise.

Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth.

Worship the Lord with gladness;
    come before him with joyful songs.

Know that the Lord is God.
    It is he who made us, and we are his[a];
    we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.

Enter his gates with thanksgiving
    and his courts with praise;
    give thanks to him and praise his name.

For the Lord is good and his love endures forever;
    his faithfulness continues through all generations.
